Lady Preds Make More Histroy
The Novice girls have had quite a year so far, first time game ever played in Lions Head by a novice girls team.
First ever International Silver Stick Tournament for a novice girls team.

and now, Predators ladies are making History again!

The Peninsula Predators Novice 'C' girls have received some exciting news as they will represent their district and region as the Provincial contending team in Ottawa on April 3rd to the 7th.

The team is very excited as it has learned it is the 1st ever girls novice team from any association in the Grey Bruce to ever qualify for the Provincial tournament.
The buzz has gotten so big from around the area, that 3 different centre's are now discussing trying to put together their own novice team including the Owen Sound Ice Hawks who recently announced on their web site they would like to build a team there.

Both the former Wiarton and Lions Head minor hockey systems have had a couple of combined peninsula girls teams from the Bantam and Midget categories represent the area in this prestigious event in the past.

In the 2010/2011 season for the Bruce Peninsula Wild association, the Midget girls traveled to Mississauga, Ontario to play as the 1st official representation from the newly amalgamated North Bruce Wild Minor hockey  association.

In April, at the year end banquet, the North Bruce executive members announced that it had newly renamed itself the Peninsula Predators association that officially started this season.
The novice 'C' girls team will be the first to represent it under that title name for the association at a provincial tournament.
Being just the 2nd team under the North Bruce Minor Hockey association tag is a really big deal to the players and coaching staff who are so excited to get this opportunity to play in this tournament.
Add in that they are apparently the first ever Grey Bruce Novice team to compete at something of this magnitude is an amazing accomplishment and a tremendous honor!
.
The girls are also excited as they will get to take in a pair of Women's World Championship games during this time as it is also being held in Ottawa from April 2nd to the 9th.
The team will see the United States play the Switzerland team and Haley Wickenheisser and the rest of Team Canada play host to Finland on the Friday the 5th.
Congrats girls on this amazing accomplishment in qualifying girls.
Team members are Captain, Maizy Hutchinson, with assistant captains Chesney Miller, Madeline Linklater, and Maggie Klunder.
