Predators Blow Lead Late vs Owen Sound
The Bruce Peninsula Tim Horton Sr tyke Predators hosted the Owen Sound Select Attack team on March 2nd in Wiarton.
The game was the first time in history that a Bruce Peninsula team had a chance to play an Owen Sound Sr Tyke team.
The game was terrific, lots of action at both ends, goalies played well, and the chances were galore as the crowd cheered with excitement!
Robertson Macgregor was exceptional stopping some premium shots early on including a couple of break away chances.
The score was 1 to 0 for Owen Sound in the early going, But the Predators tied it up on a goal by David Rouse, assists to Shiloh McNair and Luke Keeshig.
The Predators would go up 2 to 1 on a goal by Broguen McManus with assists going to Asher Simpson and Wyatt Thomas.
Owen Sound then tied it up 2 to 2.
But the Predators would score the go ahead goal once again with a beautiful rush end to end by David Rouse who shot the puck up under the bar over the Owen Sound goal tender for the unassisted goal!
The Preds would take advantage of another wonderful play by Asher Simpson to get the puck deep, and Broguen McManus would score on a wrap around to go up 4 to 2.
But with just 3 minutes left in the game, Owen Sound kept pressing a answered back with a beautifiul goal of their own!
Finally with just 28 seconds left in the game, Owen sound would tie it up at 4 a peace to draw even the rest of the way!
What an exciting game, Ryan & Nathan Hickey had a great 2 on 0 opportunity mid way through, Shiloh, Luke, Shailan and Angeline were digging really hard all game long!
Michael, Broguen, David, and Asher were exceptional on defence, and Wyatt Thomas was outstanding all game long playing a solid 2 way hockey game!
Robertson, congrats on an amazing game vs a really strong Owen Sound Tyke team!
Coaches were all so proud of all of you!
