1st Game of the Season
Hi everyone. Atom local hockey action has finally gotten under way. It's going to be a shorter season this year with only 6 teams in our loop, 2 being from our organization. Here's hoping the weather will cooperate with us for a little while. We arrived at the arena in the gloomy, overcast , foggy morning and left in a blue sky, warm wind afternoon.
Today our team faced the Arran Elderslie in our 1st regular season game. We got off to a late start but at the end of it, everyone had fun. The boys played such a great game today with Kohan scoring the first goal of the game. The score was 1-0 for us at the end of the first period. AE replied with 2 goals in the second. Kohan scored his second of the game for us in the third. AE came at us hard in the third, but our small team was exhausted. We lost our first game with a score of 7-2.
The coaching staff and parents are very proud of how hard our boys played today. They never gave up right up the bitter end. Finally a big shout out to our Gatorade Player of the Game, first time goaltender, Grady Mirrlees! He played a great game today!
