End of Regular Season and OMHA Play-Offs
The Peninsula Pee Wee Rep team has finished their regular season (with the exception of one game left to be played on Friday, February 13) and has completed their OMHA play-offs.

The last weekend of November was a busy one with the Reps playing a game against Saugeen Shores in Southampton on the 29th. They came up on the losing end with a score of 7-2. The goals were scored by Dylan and Sam B. assisted by Sam M.

On Sunday, November 30th the Pee Wee team traveled to Ayton to participate in the West Grey Pee Wee Rep tournament.  Game one saw the HCR/Foodland Peninsula Reps win 5-1 against South Muskoka.  Jackson scored the first goal of the game early in the First Period on a pass from Sam B. Late in the opening period of play Sam B. scored (assisted by River) to allow the Predators a 2-0 lead. Bruce Peninsula would score three more times in the Second Period (goals from Keith (2) and Dylan with assists to Kobe, Sam B. and Keith) before South Muskoka scored their lone goal of the game.

Game two of the day was a match up between the Predators and the Hanover Falcons.  At the end of the First Period both teams were on the board with one goal each. (Dylan scored unassisted mid-way through the opening ten minutes of play).  The Falcons scored three unanswered goals in the Second Period.  No scoring took place in the final period of play.  Hanover won the game with a final score of 4-1.  With the West Grey tournament being a +/- ranking of teams both Hanover and Bruce Peninsula finished with a +1 ranking.  These two teams would square off again in the Consolation Final. The Falcons were on the board twice in the First Period.  The Predators fought hard and with good defensive play and some quick maneuvers from both goal tenders neither team scored in the Second Period.  The final ten minutes were tense as Bruce Peninsula got on the scoreboard twice with goals from Sam B. and Caleb.  Assists went to Daniel and Kobe.  The Predators had seven minutes left to try to even things up but Hanover fought hard and did not allow that to happen.  The Falcons won the Consolation Final with a final score of 3-2.

The month of December saw the Predators play three regular season games.  Unfortunately, they came up on the losing end of all three games.  Mount Forest defeated them twice with scores of 7-5 and 7-2. Scoring for the Pee Wee Reps were Dylan, assisted by Kobe and Daniel, Daniel(2)-both unassisted, Sam B.(3)-assisted by Kobe, Sam M., Daniel and Jack and Sam M.-unassisted. The Predators lost in Shallow Lake with a score of 5-2. Goal scorers were Jack assisted by Dylan and Caleb unassisted.

January 4th the Pee Wee Reps were in Keady to take on the TCDMHA Rebels.  The Rebels had a commanding 3-0 lead at the end of the Second Period of play.  Keith assisted by River and Sam B. got the Predators on the scoreboard early in the Third.  The HCR/Foodland Reps would score again (Dylan assisted by Sam B.) making the score 3-2. The Peninsula Reps were unable to put the puck in the net again before the final buzzer.  The Rebels went on to win the game 4-2.

The final home game of the season was on Sunday, January 5 in Wiarton against the Arran Elderslie Ice Dogs. The game started out promising as no scoring took place in the opening ten minutes of play.  The Predators quickly lost their momentum when AEMHA scored three unanswered goals in the Second Period.  In the Third, the Peninsula team was able to get on the scoreboard twice with goals from Keith (assisted by Sam B.) and Sam B. (assisted by Sam M) to get them within a goal of the Arran Elderslie team.  The Ice Dogs were persistent and scored three more goals late in the third to win the game 6-2.

OMHA play offs had the Peninsula team play a best of five series against the West Grey Warriors. Despite West Grey finishing first overall in our pool the games played in this series were exciting, close and worth the price of admission.  The Predators lost all three games 4-1, 3-2 and 4-2 but there were empty net goals, some bad referee calls (game three saw both teams serve 18-22 minutes in the box) and some fabulous hockey played.  Goal scorers were River, Daniel(2), Jacob and Sam B. Assisting them were Sam M., Dylan, Kobe (2), and Jacob. The boys on the game sheets along with Lucas, Jackson, Caleb, Jack, Keith and Jon in net dug deep and fought hard in all three games. The coaching staff was excited to see all their hard work at practice finally translating into game playing that was indicative of the talent that this group of hockey players has.  They should be proud of their efforts.

The WOAA play-offs are underway with home and home series against Shallow Lake, South Bruce and Hanover. Updates on these games will be given in the next write up.

The next game for the HCR/Foodland Peninsula Pee Wee Rep team is on Friday, February 13th in Lion's Head as part of  Hockey Day in Canada that is taking place next weekend.  The Predators will be playing their final regular season game against Saugeen Shores.
