Plenty Of Scoring As Preds Split Games On Weekend...
The Bruce Peninsula Predators Novice #1 had a pair of games this weekend in Novice LL action.
The first game was on Friday night in Lions Head vs Saugeen Shores Storm #3 in which Saugeen won 9 to 7.

Ryan Hickey made his goal tending debut as he stood tall in this very wide open hockey game!

The team was down 6 to 2 at one point but kept pushing hard and slowly clawed back into the contest the 2nd half.
We are proud of you for not giving up and sticking with the plan kids!

Sklyer Campigotto would score a hat trick and add 1 assist while defencemen Asher Simpson was outstanding as he put in a 5 assist performance.
Dalton Fries would also have 3 assists while Broguen McManus had 2 goals.
Mason Fortin and Michael Rouse each had 1 goal and 1 assist while Nathan Miller, Lillie Dowd, and Gabriel McNair each chipped in with 1 assist a apiece.
Special shout out to brogue and Mason who were both exceptional on the fore check in this game.

The second game was in Shallow Lake on Saturday vs the Lakers #2 squad in which Bruce Pen won 8 to 2.
The kids came out flying and looked our best in at least a half dozen games going up 5 to 0 after the first period.

Heading into the second, we challenged the kids to play a more complete passing game asking them to count only official pass attempts that were successfully received by their teammates.
After the game, we found our kid were very honest with them selves as most of them felt they had completed 1 to 3 passes successfully.  Only a couple of kids felt they had made somewhere in the teens amount, thus giving us approx. 50 to 60 passes in 2 periods.
Awesome job kids, this was nice to see you sharing the puck more often, but even better was the enthusiasm on the bench as you were inventing plays and trying to put them into use on the ice.

With lots of scoring chances produced with this passing game, we were able to score 3 more goals , but could have easily had more for sure!

Special shout out to Shiloh McNair who played his best game of the season thus far almost scoring 4 different times after exceptional fore checking and skating.  Great job bud, keep working hard and skating fast, and the goals will come real soon.
I also really liked your puck carries today too!

Leading the offence again were Skyler and Asher as Skyler had 4 goals and 1 assist while Asher scored twice and added 3 assists.
Dalton Fries scored twice and added 1 assist while Mason Fortin, Lillie Dowd, & Shiloh McNair had 2 assists a piece.
Nathan Miller, Gabriel McNair, Payton Cawthorne, Ashton Boyle & Micheal Rouse each chipped in with 1 assist to round out the scoring.

Ryan Hickey got his first ever victory in net as he made a few good solid saves.
Great job Ryan, keep up the hard work at home and at practice, you just might be the next James Reimer!

All in all, a very fun weekend for you kids, loved your sportsmanship and team work and glad you showed no signs of quit when things got tough out there!

Next game is on Wednesday, Feb 3rd in Wiarton vs the undefeated TCDMHA #1 Rebels.
See you then ready to work hard and have more fun!
