Preds split mid week games
The Peewee Local girls and boys hosted both the West Grey Warriors and the Hanover Falcons this past week. Although we had a full bench the Warriors had our number for the playoffs and won by the same 2-1 score in both of our meetings.
Thursday we hosted the Falcons who had just come off a win against the Warriors and we were down two players. The boys and girls came together as a team and played forty minutes of team hockey.

On Wednesday the boys and girls played awesome, they were on their checks. Reid was there for three breakaways to shut the door.  Somehow we just couldn't get pucks at the net or convert on the rebounds. We did get a few nice opportunities but the bounces were in West Greys favour that night. Our lone goal came from a slap shot outside the blue line by Trayton which seemed to handcuff the goaltender.  Nice shot Trayton!

Thursday night the team was working harder than the opposition, they didn't give up odd man rushes and played good Defence. When the team did let them by, Reid was there to shut the door. This was Reid's first shutout of the year. Great job Reid!!!!!
Although we didn't light the lamp often the goals we scored were hard fought and well deserved. Sasha scored the first by crashing the net and putting away Josh's rebound. An excellent play with great reward!
The next goal was hard to see go in from the stands and the bench but make no mistake Emma scored on a wrap around. Very nice goal Emma!

A big congratulations to Reid for his shutout!!!

Player of the game selected by the captains was Frank for his Hustle on D.

Player of the game selected by coach Derrick was Ryan for his solid D.

Player of the game selected by coach Andrew was Josh for his play through the middle ice.

The coaching staff are so proud of the boys and girls on how far they have come this year, it has been a pleasure for Derrick, Jim and I to watch you all grow as players. Keep working hard on and off the ice and we will see you on Sunday for a big game against the Storm!
