Pee Wee Reps Get First Win of Regular Season
On Friday, November 28th the HCR/Foodland Pee Wee Rep team travelled to Tara to take on the AEMHA Ice Dogs.

The Ice Dogs were on the scoreboard first with a goal early in the first period of play.  The Predators fought hard and played well together in an attempt to keep the AEMHA team out of their end. At the half way point of the period, Sam M. scored unassisted to even things up.

Period Two saw more of the same end to end action as both teams battled to take the lead. Jon C. in net made several great saves to keep the Predators in the game.  The Ice Dogs scored at 10:17 to take a 2-1 lead. With lots of chances and opportunities to score the Peninsula team was finally able to tie the score with just over two minutes left to play before the intermission.  The goal was scored by Dylan and assisted by Mason.

The Predators came out determined to win and took control of the game in the Third Period. Keith assisted by Daniel gave the Peninsula team the lead at the eight minute mark.  An unassisted goal from Sam B. put the Predators ahead by two. On a breakaway a final unassisted goal from Mason sealed the win for the HCR/Foodland Pee Wee Reps.  It was a hard fought, well earned first win of the season!

At the half-way point of the regular season the HCR/Foodland Pee Wee Rep's 2014/15 season the boys are 1-6-2.  This record does not accurately reflect the progression and improvements this team has made.
The boys kicked off the season with a Thanksgiving weekend tournament in Erin-Hillsburgh. Despite finishing third the tournament gave both the parents and the kids the opportunity to start bonding as a team.
In regular season play, they have tied two games 1-1 and lost six games.  Of the six losses half of them were 1 to 2 goal games that were somewhat intense to play and to watch as they fought hard until the final buzzer.

This years squad includes nine first year players, 6 second year players and 1 underage player. Of these boys, 5 are AP's.  This group has been introduced to several different types of "systems" during practices.  With a detailed, fast paced practice plan, the boys have accepted and bought into the coaching staff's vision.  They continue to take this new knowledge and translate it into a "Game Plan".  Each time they step onto the ice the coaches, parents and fans can see the progression that this group of young players is making.

The Pee Wee Reps have a busy weekend of hockey as they travel to Southampton tonight (Saturday, November 29th)  to play a 6 PM game against Saugeen Shores.  Sunday, November 30th the Predators are entered in the West Grey Pee Wee Rep tournament in Ayton.  Their first game is at 11 AM (vs. Muskoka South) and game two starts at 3PM (vs. Hanover).  The next home game for this squad is in Lion's Head on Saturday, December 6th at 2 PM against the Mount Forest Rams.
