Well here it is!! The final catch up article!! The Local #2 team have been really busy these last few weeks. It has been a tough go for a bit as the team has taken a hit in the illness department. I think we have seen a bit of everything.
First game to report about was played on Nov.26 against the Shallow Lake #2 team. It was a close game but in the end we lost by one in the 3-2 upset. Scoring for us was Ryan Baker and Jonah Marshall. Assists went to Sacha Oke (2), Jonah and Ryan.
The second game to report was against 1st place team Saugeen Shores #3. The Predators came out flying in the first two periods. Chesney Miller scored her first of the season in the lone goal for the 1st. Assists went to Jonah and Austin Reid. In the second period we scored 3 more goals to Saugeens one. Goals were scored by Sacha and Jonah with 2. Assists went to Chesney and Jenna Bridge!!
The team fell apart in the third period with the top team sinking 7 goals to beat us 8-4.
Our spirits were not to be dampened as we made it back to a team house to finish our team float entry in the Wiarton Santa Claus Parade. The kids enjoyed hotdogs and snacks and had a blast. The kids broke into song singing caroles all the way to the parade route, which I heard you could hear them from 2 blocks away!! The kids were so well behaved on the float, it made the mama's proud!! After loading the kids with hot chocolate and munchies and an inpromtu snowball fight in the front yard after the parade, I'm sure they all went home for a well deserved sleep!! Excitement ensued once more at Tuesday's practice when it was revealed that our float made the front of the Wiarton Echo!! That's alot of happy kids!!
We are in action today at 3 against Arran-Elderslie, tomorrow in Shallow Lake against team #1 and again on Tuesday in Wiarton against the Owen Sound Junior Attack. It's gonna be a long weekend!!
