Predators Defeat Short-handed Shallow Lake #2 team...
The Bruce Peninsula Tim Horton Jr Tyke Predators were in Shallow Lake for a rescheduled game last weekend to take on the SL Initiation Tyke #2 team.

The game was originally scheduled for the weekend before March break and even though this was the tail end of the holiday, the two teams decided to play anyways even though Shallow Lake would have a much shorter bench than usual with only 8 skaters attending vs our 11 skaters.

The game started out very close and was end to end in chances before any scoring would happen.

Shallow Lake would open the scoring and seemed destined to get another goal right away, but the Jr Predators worked hard together to get the puck out of their end and managed a few great scoring chances of their own.

Wyatt Thomas and David Rouse were the big factor in the turn around on the score board getting the puck up the ice and passing it to their team mates when the openings were there!

The two 5 year old players show amazing character in not only having the ability to score goals and handle the puck at a young age, but they are helping their teammates find the back of the net with unselfish plays.
Great job boys!

The Shallow Lake players would start to show signs of losing the races to the puck and by the halfway point of the game, the Preds would be up by a comfortable lead.

Wyatt and David would both score goals early on to change the pace of the game, but also would try to set their friends up numerous times for quality chances with some of them resulting in goals.
Mason Bell, Broguen McManus and Nathan Miller would also help carry the pace of the game as they were able to score a couple of goals as a line.

Gregory Nadjiwon, Luc Keeshig, Colton Hepburn and Shailan Miller all played really well and also created some good chances in the othe teams end.

In the end, the match up saw the Predators walk away with a 10 to 2 victory.
Really good skating by the entire team, and excellent work together along the boards and mid ice scrums.

Goals and assists for the game were as follows:

Wyatt Thomas 2 goals and 2 assists
David Rouse 2 goals and 2 assists
Nathan Miller 1 goal and 1 assist
Broguen McManus 2 goals
Shailan Miller 1 goal
Michael Rouse 1 goal
Gregory Nadjiwon 1 goal
Mason Bell 2 assists
Colton Hepburn 1 assist

Special thanks to Pat Hoy and Paul Sutherland for a very sportsmanlike game.
