Predators Make History in Lions Head
The Peninsula Predators Novice 'C' Girls made history on Friday night when they hosted the Saugeen Shores Storm in exhibition action.

It marked the first time ever the Novice girls program had hosted a game of any type in Lions Head arena.
With the lack of Novice girls programs in the area, it has been really hard to find teams who will travel the extra 30 minutes to Lions Head to play, and therefore all the games the last 2 seasons have been played down south as visitors at the opponents rink or hosted at the Wiarton Community Center.

The night also was a successful game for the Lady Preds as they won their first game of the season.
This makes it the first home win of the season, and first ever win in Lions Head arena.

On top of that, it also was the first ever win for the coaching staff made up of Brett Miller, Mandy Klunder, Dylan Lisk, Stephanie Weatherhead, & Julie Wheeler who were all so proud of the girls and the progress they are making this season.

The game was exciting and fast as the local girls shared the best ice in Ontario with the Saugeen Storm in the 5 to 1 victory.

The scoring started with 1 minute & 42 seconds left in the 1st period when Predators player, Sydney McArthur scored her first goal of the season with a shot from the high slot after taking passes from Chesney Miller & Maggie Klunder.
The second goal of the game was put in with 2 minutes & 12 seconds left in the second period when Sydney McArthur slapped a rebound in off a Shot by Ashlin Stewart from the side boards.
The Predators made it 3 to 0 just 54 seconds later when Gracie Wheeler & Chesney Miller worked together to get the puck out to captain Maizy Hutchinson who than buried her second goal of the season with a sharp wrist shot on the low blocker side of the net.

The 3rd period saw 2 more goals scored by the Predators.  Sydney McArthur scored her 3rd of the game with 7 minutes & 19 seconds left after she took a pass from Ashlin Stewart at the red line and broke in and beat the goalie through the five hole with a hard snap shot.
McArthur than made it 5 to 0 on her fourth of the game with 5 minutes and 32 seconds left on another breakaway after she rushed the puck from her own blue line and faked the goalie out and stuffed in a back hand on a very nice deke.  Maggie Klunder & Sahara Weatherhead assisted on the final Predator goal of the evening.

Saugeen Shores broke the shut out bid by Paiton Lisk who made 15 saves in the game and received her first victory as a novice girls goaltender.
Former Predator and now captain of the storm, Olivia Hall netted the goal with just 1 minute and 45 seconds left in the game with Olivia Pope getting the only assist.

Sydney McArthur and Maizy Hutchinson took home the hardest worker and top digger awards from their coaching staff after the game.
Great job to all the girls and congratulations on your first win of the season.
