Novice Girls on Winning Streak!
The Peninsula Predators won their second game in a row on Saturday night when they visited the Saugeen Shores Storm.

The game was played at the Southhampton Colliseum and finished with a 7 to 0 win for the Preds.

Laura 'Big Saves' Naves was not real busy, but still made 12 saves including 5 difficult saves on breakaways.
Layla Cushnie made her goal tender debut for the Storm who were missing their top 3 veteran players to the Saugeen Shores Rep program.
Cushnie made 26 saves as the Predators out shot the Storm 33 to 12.

The scoring opened up in the first period with Maizy Hutchinson scoring her first of 2 on the night and Sydney McArthur & Ashlin Stewart getting the assists.
The next goal was scored 2 minutes into the second period when Madeline Linklater put in a rebound with assists going to Chesney Miller & Maggie Klunder.

28 seconds later, Maizy Hutchinson scored again with Maggie Klunder & Sahara Weatherhead getting the assists.
The Preds made it 4 to 0 with 4 minutes & 39 seconds left in the second period when Madeline Linklater scored her second of the game with Sydney McArthur & Chesney Miller getting assists.

The third period saw 3 more goals scored by the Predators.  the 1st was put in by Madeline Linklater to collect the hat trick with assists going to Payton Lisk & Chesney Miller.
The next goal was scored with 1 minute & 8 seconds left in the game when Marrisa Rouse put in her first goal of the season on a rebound with assists going to Maggie Klunder & Gillian Warren.
13 seconds later, Chesney Miller put in her first of the season with Ashlin Stewart & Payton Lisk receiving assists on the play.

Emily Russett, Sabra Cannon & Lily Van Geel all had 3 shots each in the loss for the Storm.

This was a terrific effort for the Predators who played a complete team game and really worked hard in all 3 zones.
Excellent defensive play for Morgan Daries & Gracie Wheeler on the blue line and Gillian Warren had 3 breakaways in the game but was denied all 3 times.
Payton Lisk was showing her muscles along the boards winning battle after battle and Marissa Rouse had her best game of the season playing well in both ends of the ice.
Congrats girls on the great play and your new winning streak!
Top digger & hardest workers awards went to Madeline Linklater & Gillian Warren for their efforts in the game.

Next action for the novice girls is a dry land training practice in Wiarton at 6p.m. Mon, Jan 14th & followed by a home game in Wiarton on Monday, Jan 21st at 6p.m. vs the Saugeen Shores Storm in a rematch from Saturday.
