Austin Holley Tournament and First Four League Games
The Novice Locals#2 have had a busy start to their season.

The weekend of October 25, 26, and 27th the Novice Locals played in the Third Annual Austin Holley Fall Shoot Out Tournament in Wiarton.  The games started with a Friday night match up between Shallow Lake #2 and the Local#2 squad.  Shallow Lake won the game with a score of 7-2.  Goal scorers for the Locals were Jesse M. and Tristan.  Assists went to Logan, Paityn and Marissa helped with both.  Noah played a great game in net. He is a first time goal tender this year and this was only his second game playing net.
Game #2 saw us matched up against a very strong Lucan Irish team.  Lucan took the win.  The Locals were unable to score a single goal.  Despite the loss, they all came off the ice with smiles on their faces.
Sunday's  medal game against Shallow Lake #1 was a much closer one.  The Locals were on the scoreboard first with a goal from Luc assisted by Ty and Logan.  Shallow Lake scored three goals in the second period to take a  3-1 lead.  No scoring took place from either team in the third.  The Locals played really well and everyone was presented with a bronze medal at the end of the game.

In regular season games, the Local #2 team has already played four league games. Wednesday, October 23rd the Saugeen Shores #3 team travelled to Wiarton.  Saugeen Shores won the game 6-0.  On Wednesday, October 30th Shallow Lake #2 was in town.  They took the win and once again the Local's were unable to score. On Saturday, November 2 Saugeen Shores #1 the Lion's Head arena was the venue for the Local #2's third league game of the season.  Unfortunately, the Locals despite several chances were unable to get the puck in the Saugeen Shores net.  The game was a much closer contest than the last couple as the final score was 4-0 for the Saugeen team.
Saturday, November 16th the Locals hit the road for their first away game of the season in Port Elgin.  The Saugeen Shores #3 team took an early lead and control of the game.  The final score was 9-1.  Jesse N. scored the Local's lone goal with thirty seconds left on the clock.  Assisting on the goal was Evan.

We had a very late start to our season and the kids are all eager to play and listen in practices and on the bench.  Coach Steve is slowly working on lines and player positions.  Noah improves each and every game in net.  The rest of the players - Boston, Sahara, Jesse N., Marissa, Ty, Jesse M., Trey, Logan, Paityn, Evan, Tristan, and Luc continue to skate hard and try their best.  The team improves every time they step on the ice.

The Locals hit the ice again on Tuesday(6:30 in Lion's Head) for a practice.  On Saturday, November 23rd they are at home in Lion's Head for a 12:00 game against Shallow Lake #2. Tuesday, November 26th they are in Lion's Head again for a 6:30 game against Saugeen Shores #4.  Hockey Day in Wiarton sees a match-up of Bruce Peninsula Local#1 and Local #2 at 5 PM on Friday, November 29th. Saturday, November 30th they are at the Plex in Port Elgin to take on the Saugeen Shores #1 squad.
