Lakers Teams take pair of Wins
Sorry folks, Its been some time now since we've found a chance to write something for our Tyke followers, but after a tough start to our season, the kids are doing great in practice and its really starting to show in the games.
So here is what has been happening in early January.
The Shallow Lake #1 Lakers came to Lions Head in early January and beat our Predator tykes 8 to 5.
Robertson played a good game in net, making a few good stick saves, and was much better at smothering the puck on goal mouth scrambles.
Grady McKnight had an amazing game for Shallow Lake scoring 5 goals and adding 2 assists.
Bruce Peninsula points went to David Rouse with 2 goals and 1 assists, Shailan Miller with 2 goals and 1 assist, Wyatt Thomas with 1 goal, Shiloh McNair with 2 assists, and Broguen McManus and Ryan Hickey each had an assist each.
Great job guys, this was a tough game, but you played hard to the end.
The Predator tykes than traveled to Shallow Lake the following weekend to play the Lakers #2 tyke team, and found their opponent was much more ready to play out of the gate.
Our kids looked like they had a long week of school, and their feet might of been a little heavy, but they did have fun in the end in a 9 to 5 loss.
Reid Thompson had 5 goals and 2 assists and Owen Barfoot had 2 goals and 4 assists to lead the Shallow Lake attack.
David Rouse had 2 goals, Wyatt Thomas had 2 goals and Shailan Miller had 1 goal while Broguen McManus had 2 assists, and Luke Keeshig, Asher Simpson, Michael Rouse, Ryan Hickey and Nathan Hickey all chipped in with 1 assist a piece in the loss.
The Tykes then enjoyed another game with the Jr Tyke Predators and team red won 11 to 3.
Colton Hepburn had not only his first ever goal, but he finished the day with 4 goals and 1 assist, Mason Fortin had 1 goal and 2 assists, Mason Bell had 1 goal, Gregory Nadjiwon had 1 goal and assist, Angeline Edgar had 1 goal and assist, David Rouse had 2 goals, Wyatt Thomas had 2 goals, Broguen McManus had a goal and little brother Declan McManus scored his first ever goal on a break away going low glove side, great job Declan!
Shailan Miller and Michael rouse rounded out things with an assist each.
Great job kids, keep working hard, and remember to always have fun!
