Lakers Team Strong Again...
The Shallow Lake Lakers #2 team came to Lions Head in Late January and showed our team just how strong they were once again winning with a score of 7 to 2.
The game was back and forth for some time, but as the game got on, the Lakers just were finding a way to get more chances and ultimately more goals.
Reid Thompson had 4 goals and 2 assists and Owen Barfoot had 3 goals and 2 assists and Sam Slazzo had 3 assists and Gavin Thomas had 2 assists to once again lead the Laker attack to a victory.
All 4 of these boys have fathers who played for Wiarton Minor Hockey growing up, which makes it ironic that its those kids who play the leadership role in their teams victories!
Bruce Peninsula had some great scoring chances in this game, Wyatt Thomas was a skating machine all game long, and eventually he would score on a rebound off a shot from David Rouse.
Shiloh McNair would draw the other assist.
David Rouse would then score off a beauty shot off the cross bar with assists going to Shailan Miller and Asher Simpson.
Robertson played his best game so far, actually stoning the Laker shooters on multiple occasions and including a great butterfly save on a 2 on 0 breakaway mid way through the game.
Great job Robertson, really proud that you never give up on your team bud!
