Pee Wee Local, 2015-2016 (Bruce Peninsula Minor Hockey)

My apologies to Tristan who scored his first goal as a peewee and played outstanding. It is our pleasure to have you as part of our team and are excited to see the sniper pot another one today.  

Thursday night was a special night to say the least. We had 9 different goal scorers, with one scoring his first goal of the year and another scoring for the first time EVER! The first period was no indication of how the game was going to end, yes we had great D and we had some plays that were highlight real worthy. Like the give and go between Josh and Sasha. Sasha received the pass from Josh, the D collapsed down on him and the goalie committed to him. He sauced a nice one to Josh who was all alone and made no mistake by putting it away with authority.   

Elijah wasn't tested often but when he was he made some great saves! Our defence was on fire and didn't let the Storm get a shot on net in the first period. We did a great job of plugging up the neutral zone and forcing the opposition into turning the puck over time and again. The forwards did a great job of cycling the puck down low and getting lots of chances, hitting the post a couple of time. Not taking anything away from the Storm goalie, he played outstanding and kept them in the game!

The Peewee Local girls and boys hosted both the West Grey Warriors and the Hanover Falcons this past week. Although we had a full bench the Warriors had our number for the playoffs and won by the same 2-1 score in both of our meetings.  Thursday we hosted the Falcons who had just come off a win against the Warriors and we were down two players. The boys and girls came together as a team and played forty minutes of team hockey.  

First I would like to send a get well soon to Devon and is one of the reasons I didn't post last Sun. We went down to Ayton and played a fast paced game against west Grey and not only came up a little short on the game but lost a member of our team for a week or two. Damion scored our lone goal in the first period and there was no score until mid way through the third when West Grey potted the winner. This afternoon we traveled to Southampton for a game vs the Storm.
